Celebrate Banned Books Week 2025: Stand with the Banned
October 5–11, 2025

Banned Books Week is more than just a celebration—it’s a rallying cry. From October 5–11, 2025, libraries, educators, readers and advocates across the country will come together to honor the freedom to read and shine a light on the growing threats of censorship.

At a time when challenges to books are increasing at an alarming rate, libraries remain steadfast as bastions of freedom. They uphold the First Amendment, ensuring that communities have access to diverse voices, perspectives and stories. The freedom to read is a cornerstone of democracy, and libraries stand at the front lines protecting it for everyone.

During Banned Books Week, anyone who donates $50 or more to the Foundation will receive an “I Read Banned Books” sticker as a special thank-you gift.

Want to take your support even further?

This year, we’re proud to join that fight with bold new designs in our Be All In Shop on Etsy. Featuring the powerful statement “I Stand with the Banned”, our collection lets readers wear their values proudly. And it’s not just about making a statement—every sale supports the Foundation for Baltimore County Public Library, helping to safeguard the Freedom to Read for generations to come.

This October, stand with us. Celebrate the books that challenge us, inspire us and sometimes even make us uncomfortable. Because when we protect the right to read freely, we protect the heart of our democracy.

Stand with the Banned. Support the Freedom to Read.
