Percival Everett is a prolific and genre-defying author whose work includes the Pulitzer Prize finalist Telephone and the Booker Prize–shortlisted The Trees. His daring and inventive novels tackle race, identity and the boundaries of storytelling with sharp satire and intellectual depth.
“We are absolutely thrilled to launch this brand-new author series,” said Sonia Alcántara-Antoine, CEO of Baltimore County Public Library. “This series was born out of direct feedback from our community—we surveyed our customers and saw a clear demand for opportunities to engage with high-profile authors in meaningful, in-person events. That enthusiasm was on full display when Colson Whitehead’s event sold out a 1,000-person auditorium in just 15 minutes. It’s clear that Baltimore County readers are hungry for this kind of literary programming, and we’re proud to bring it to them.”
The Foundation extends its deepest thanks to Goucher College for their ongoing partnership and generous support in hosting the majority of this season’s events. Their continued commitment to fostering arts, culture and community dialogue has been instrumental in making this series a success.
This author series is fully sponsored by Foundation for Baltimore County Public Library, whose mission is to provide resources to help the library enrich the lives of Baltimore County residents. The Foundation supports innovative programs, capital projects and initiatives that ensure equal access to technology, learning and literacy for all.
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with some of today’s most celebrated literary voices. Ticketing and event details will be announced later this year.
