The Foundation is proud to support Battle of the Books, now virtual and starting today! Many elementary and middle school students spent most of the school year reading Maryland Black-Eyed Susan nominees in preparation for Battle of the Books, a book-based competition where students compete in teams to answer questions related to the content of the books. Due to COVID-19, the competitions were cancelled. In an effort to celebrate and still recognize the efforts of each and every participating student, the library replaced the battle with a series of virtual events, including virtual author appearances.
