Foundation for Baltimore County Public Library is proud to announce the addition of three distinguished professionals to its Board of Directors: Shafiyq Hinton, Danielle Marshall, and Mindy O’Malley. Each new member brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to community enrichment and development.
Shafiyq Hinton
A lifelong resident of Baltimore County, Shafiyq Hinton understands the importance of accessible resources for all residents to thrive. With a strong background in healthcare, particularly in oncology and neurology, Shafiyq currently serves as a Senior Therapeutic Specialist for U.S. Immunology at Bristol Myers Squibb. His commitment to improving patient outcomes reflects his dedication to enhancing the well-being of his community. In addition to healthcare, Shafiyq also holds a Maryland real estate license.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Shafiyq is deeply engaged in various community leadership roles. He serves as the President of Overlea High School’s PTSA, actively shaping educational opportunities for local youth. As a Baltimore County Department of Planning Board Member, he works to ensure thoughtful development that benefits the entire community.
Danielle Marshall
As the founder of Culture Principles, Danielle Marshall recognizes the urgent need to operationalize Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (REDI) metrics. She has been instrumental in centering REDI goals and establishing systems of accountability through a rigorous process of organizational assessment, racial equity workshops, and the development of customized meaningful change.
Prior to her pioneering work with Culture Principles, Danielle spent over 20 years in the nonprofit sector, most recently serving as the Executive Director of Playworks Mid-Atlantic. There, she played a vital role in leading the National Equity Team, crafting equity statements, and training over 500 staff members in best practices for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Danielle is certified as a Diversity Professional (CDP) and an ICF-certified Executive Coach (ACC). Armed with a Master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Louisiana Tech University, she skillfully applies a racial equity lens to transform organizational policies, practices, and protocols.
Mindy O’Malley
Mindy O’Malley holds a B.B.A. in Accounting as well as a law degree. She has worked for law firms, as in-house counsel for a private insurance company, and as an Assistant Attorney General for the Maryland Insurance Administration. For the past nine years, Mindy has excelled as a full-time residential realtor in the Baltimore City and County markets, proving successful amid changes in the economy and real estate market. She is currently with The O’Malley Schwanke Team of Cummings & Co.
Mindy has previously served on the Board for Hampton Mansion and the 1844 Committee for the Maryland Historical Society. She and her husband have three children, live in Lutherville, and are frequent visitors to the Cockeysville Branch of the library.
